Floaters

Floaters are a type of release where the jumper brings the rope to a stop above their head, and release one or both handles. The rope then ‘floats’ in the air for a short time before the handles are caught and the jumper continues jumping. This type of skill is often use to transition between skills that otherwise would be theoretically impossible to perform in a sequence next to each other.

Coach Chris’s Top Tips TO DO

✅ Step over the rope with the leg you would’ve jumped on
✅ Wait for the rope to pass over your head in front of you before exiting
✅ Try your best to keep the rope travelling vertical at all times
‼️ Avoid letting the rope touch your legs as it passes in between them
‼️ Avoid letting your unrestricted hand pass over your head
